We want to know that how refractive index can be determined from the transmittance and reflectance measurements using UV-visible spectrophotometer

You could measure specular reflectance, and then calculate refractive index using Fresnel Formulas ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fresnel_equations )
